This past week our ladies were to host Meadowridge, however, the venue was different. We had another ladies festival, this time it was at Ikamva fields, the home of Ajax Cape Town.

 

We were excited that we would play our first game in a few weeks owing to our previous two games being postponed and called off. Firstly, Goodwood United did not pitch up for our home fixture. Secondly the following week our game against Green Point was postponed due to fields and SAFA CT as well as COCT calling off all games.

 

Our opponents on the night were a couple players short to begin with which put us on the front foot from the start.

 

We scored our opener only 6 minutes in before getting our second goal 20 minutes later. We had so many chances to score, but the ball was just not finding its way into the back of our opponents net. Once we scored the second goal, the 3rd and 4th came with shortly afterwards.

The 4 goals in the first half were scored by Courtney Jefferies – AKA CJ (2) and Naemi Frentzel (2).

 

They both continued to score in the second half with CJ getting her debut Hat-trick in her debut game, while Naemi got her 3rd Hat-trick of the season. CJ went on to score two more goals and come ever closer to getting the club and the teams first double-hattrick of the season.

 

Naemi followed suit, however, only got 1 more goal, finishing with 4 goals on the night.

 

The girls were not all having their best game on the night, but the performance was good and the result was needed.

Our next game is against Table View and the morale is high and we look forward to the challenge as we know they are a tough team to play against.
