Bellville City U/13B hosted Garden Village. The boys were looking to make it 6 points in a row and boy did they fight for their victory. It did not take long before Zam netted an individual effort goal. The goal came from a well-defended corner by Bellville City. Zam worked his way from the middle of the park, showing pace and strength as he maneuverer his way to soccer a brilliant goal. The crowd (and the coaches) went wild.
The teams were evenly matched. Whilst Coach Jay was down nursing Michael’s ankle injury, Waindre assisted Tristan to score a magnificent goal. This inspired Michael and he pushed on injury and all.
Garden Village kept probing and pushing but their efforts were halted by our defense and great goal keeper, Kian. Towards the end of the 1st half we conceded a corner after not clearing our line. Garden Village took advantage and they got one back.
We kept our heads up and Jade missed an opportunity to put us two goals ahead again when he just had the keeper to beat. The first half was action packed and the boys could not wait to wrap up the win, half time 2-1 to Bellville.

The second half started slower with both sides having some tired legs. Bellville City made two substitutions with Liyema and Reece making their first appearances of the season. They performed like they have been playing all season long. Daniel and Surge were also brought into action to bolster both our attack and defense. It was Bellville City who would have the last laugh as Zinzan’s strike finished the game 3-1.
They earned the 3 points with this stunning victory and made it six points in a row.
Waindre’s stunning performance earned him man of the match. Well done!
