The match started 30 minutes late due to no field markings or referee. Bellville dominated from the kick off and Luca Grasso scored within 5 minutes from a corner. Edgemead had a few chances but our defence held out. 10 minutes later Bellvile scored, via Minke Van Niekerk, from a corner again, to go 2 nil up into haltime.

 

Second half saw Bellville looking tired, and Edgemead coming out stronger. We made a few tactical changes to assist in keeping the ball, and add some freshness.

 

Bellville countered beautifully with the move of the match with 6 passes and a shot resulting in a corner. Kevin Tsobze volleyed home from the resulting corner. Bellville conceded an unlucky late goal, after an unfortunate defensive error.

 

Connor Fourie assisted with 3 goals from 3 corners. Kaydon Merrington, Johan Janse Van Rensburg and Tiaan Franken were solid in defense, with Edward Fick working his socks off in the midfield. Great overall performance from Bellville C. Holding their shape and playing as a team.
