On Saturday 29 April U11A played arch rivals Durbanville away.
This game is always taken very seriously but I need to stress the incredible attitude of both Durbanville and BCFC whenever we play. Most of these kids are at school together and chase a ball around as friends each and every break. Win or lose we love playing them.
Durbanville played 70% of the first half in our half of the field. We had strengthened our defence to keep them from scoring and paid for being over cautious when, off a spectacular cross from the right wing, one of their star players slotted an incredible header in the top corner.
We then decided that the best form of defense was to attack. The fight was on and we came painfully close to equalising before half time.
The second half Bellville showed their flare and style and took a few more chances only covering defence with one player at times. This allowed us to score and put us inches away from making it 2-1 or possibly 3-1. The Durbanville goal keeper proved his metal.
Great game and very fair result.
