Another great morning for football at Bellville City FC.
The boys started off really well against a tough opponent. Josh had their main player in his pocket from the word go which made it difficult for them.
Bothasig stole the ball back from us after the keeper threw it in. Not having any of it, Kai came out and made a great 1 on 1 save and got hands to ball where the Bothasig striker kicked it out of his hands and unfortunately the ref still awarded the goal.
The 2 teams matched each other well on the field. Bothasig had a kick in and their striker was right in front of our keeper when the ball came into our box and he deflected it passes the keeper. 2-0 end of first period.
Bellville came out strong in the second period. Connor in goals only had 1 ball to worry about that went narrowly wide of a long range effort. Josh latched onto a kick in that keeper got a hand to but rolled in to make the score 2-1 to Bothasig and so the second period ended.
The 3rd period started frantically with both teams pressing for the ball from the whistle. Booth & Austen pressured Bothasig well all over the pitch. Bellville received a free kick for a hand ball which was deflected out for a corner. Keiran came on for Austen and was a real live wire. Bothasig attacked and their striker broke thru the middle and 1 on 1 with the keeper put it in the back of the net making it 3-1 and final score.
