Kick off was on time 12h15. Bellville vs. Northpine for the 2nd round fixture.
The team felt the winter blues with only 12 players reporting to play. Some were sick and some players were on out on school football tournaments. Unfortunately when it comes to school commitments on a Saturday clubs in general usually get the short end of the stick albeit we also contribute a lot to the upliftment of the community. How do we address this !!!
Nevertheless the team had a slow start and conceded early in the game. Maybe that is what the team needed and the intensity increased which lead to our 1st goal scored by Alec. The team started to settle down a bit and scored another goal before halftime. Halftime score 2 :1
The 2nd half Northpine played well with their long balls by putting our team under pressure. Like in our previous games we created a couple of chances but could not found the back of the net. With our only option on the bench, Jaden came on with his usual energy and scored with about 10min to go. This settled the nervous a bit and we started keep the possession a bit better.
A big THANK YOU for the 12 players on the day who grind out the victory which showed good character.
