My U9B side really showed their steel against a formidable Northpine U9A side.

In the first quarter a lot of opportunities were created by both sides but the breakthrough came when we applied extra pressure combined with great passing giving William the opportunity to net a well taken goal. This pressure saw us through to the end of the first quarter.

The same game plan continued in the second quarter but due to a lapse in concentration by our defender miss queuing the ball afforded Northpine the opportunity to equalise with their striker toe poking the ball into the poles after a great initial save that was made by Phoenix.

The scored remained 1-1 until the end of the match, which was not a true reflection of the game given the chances we missed but a brilliant result non the less. It definitely boosted the confidence of the boys that they can overcome any opposition if they play as a team which they so brilliantly done.
