Another chilly Saturday morning at PP Smit, where we hosted De Beers.

 

The boys got off to another flyer as we have been doing the whole, playing good ball, darting runs and peppering the De Beers goal(and goalkeeper) with good shots, but their keeper was up for the task at hand, making some really impressive saves to keep the score at 0-0.

 

About 7min in, De Beers broke and their striker unleashed a quality long range effort which dipped under the crossbar, despite Kyles(our keeper) best effort to keep it out. 1-0 De Beers and that’s how the first 10min ended.

 

The second 10min was dominated by De Beers, having the better chances. Despite our keeper, Caiden, making a few crucial saves, De Beers converted 2 of their many chances in quick succession. 3-0 at the end of the second period.

 

The period started better again for Bellville, but De Beers were defending well. Austen (our keeper) had little to do, but a sneaky shot found it’s way past him to make it 4-0.

 

Nevertheless, the boys continued to press and we’re awarded a penalty for a hand ball in the box. Tyler stepped up and calmly slotted it past the keeper in the side netting.

 

Bellville kept pushing bit De Beers kept defending. It ended 4-1 to De Beers with Joshua picking up our Man of the Match for his endless running and efforts despite the scoreline.

 

Well done to the boys for never giving up. So proud of them all. Up the City!! #BCFC
