Ladies 16th May 2017
City was the place to be this past Friday. No matter the outcome, Bellville City FC Ladies were by far the best team on the night.
With a full squad of registered players for the first time this season we could face our toughest opponents yet in a knockout competition.
We were on the back foot in the first half where we conceded two goals, however, in the last five minutes we got back a crucial goal through a fantastic free kick by Shannon Mills.
Half time: Bellville City FC 1 Bothasig 2
The second half was dominated by our ladies and we equalized with with Naemi Frenzel and she also put us in the lead with her last touch of her game.
Full time: Bellville City FC 2 Bothasig 2
The win was on the cards and we only needed to hang on for a few minutes, but somehow the Sig snuck back in the game with a suspicious offside goal.
After Extra-time: Bellville City FC 3 Bothasig 3
The sig went on to win 4-2 on penalties. Despite a possible red card that should have been given to the Sig keeper in the second half, we all knew that BCFC Ladies were unlucky to not win on the night.
We as coaches are very proud of the fight the ladies showed on the night against Bothasig, and with that fight in them I see this team go a very far together.
