So the season got off to a chilly autumn’s morning on Saturday for an early 8:00am kickoff at Table View FC.

 

Always deemed as a tough fixture, the boys got off to a brilliant, energetic start. They pinned their hosts in their own half for the first 4 min of the first 10 min period. Then, on a good quick break away, Table View broke the deadlock. Not to be outdone, Bellville City bounced back 2min later, with Connor Lobb scoring the equalizer.

 

The second 10 min, started off like the first but Table View shifted gears and it was end to end stuff in the second period. Again our young superstars put in a valiant effort and were soon rewarded with a second goal by Ludwig Greyvenstein putting us ahead 2-1. Caiden O’Brein pulled off one of the best double reaction saves you will see this season from any U7 but unfortunately, he could not keep them all out and Table View scored their second, 2-2. Shortly after, Connor Lobb, slotted our third to put us 3-2 up. Table View came back strong too and finally equalized, 3-3.

 

The third and final period was end to end again, tired legs just couldn’t finish, but defenses were doing well, keeping the strikers at bay.

A very entertaining first game of the season and good football was played and fun was had by all.
