Due to the fact that 2 of our experienced Centre Backs were unavailable for the match, I settled on a 5-2-1-2 formation to neutralize a traditionally combatative Bothasig side that likes to go aerial.
Having had no time to practice the new formation I was pleasantly surprised when we executed our tactics so well.
We enjoyed most of the ball possession and dominated proceedings from start to finish showing some fine interplay and hardly any troubles caused by their attack.
The whole team deserve credit but especially the wingers who had to revert to wing backs for this match.
In the end Man of the Match went to Michael Le Roux, who bagged a brace with a cracking strike for the second goal – which was one of the highlights of a thrilling game.
Full Time: Bothasig 0 – 3 Bellville City.
