1st Team, Spotlight 9th Apr 2017
The 1st Team’s first home game of the 2017 season was marked by youngsters of the mini’s taking the field with the 1st Team squad for their game against Northpine, on a hot day at PP Smits in front of a fantastic turn out of home and away supporters.

Match Report
This past Saturday marked our first home game of the season, our visitors being Northpine United. The squad also benefited from more players cards arriving in mid week, strengthening our depth a bit as opposed to last weekend’s game
The match was played in good spirit between both teams, with BCFC being on the attack from the very start. The opening goal was scored by Aidan in the 18th minute after some good interplay down the right hand side through midfield. City’s 2nd goal saw a good delivery from out wide on a set piece from Olla, with Marco applying the finishing touch from a flicked header on the near post. The third goal is a contender for goal of the season in the club, with Kitas picking up a loose ball in midfield taking on and beating two Northpine defenders, and finishing from outside the corner of 18 yard box with a curler into the side netting on the far post, beating the keeper all ends up.

The 2nd half saw City’s intensity drop a bit, allowing Northpine back into the game in the opening 10 minutes, before a quick break at pace with a late run into the box from Themba. With Aidan holding the ball up well under pressure from Northpine central defender, and laying it off, Themba applied a measured finish across the keeper into the far corner.
The last 10 minutes were played with 10 men, with Divian having been sent off with a straight red.
