On Saturday 27 May our U7B team took on Northpine U7A at a very wet Northpine ground.

 

We fielded quite a young side, with 4 of our 6 boys all still under 6 years of age.

 

It was tough going in the first 10 minutes with the much bigger boys from Northpine scoring 4 goals in quick succession. Only some great saves and some last ditch tackles from our youngsters kept the score line down.

 

Into the second period of the game and Northpine scored another 2 quick goals. At this point we parked the bus… both Liam’s were sterling in defense and young Caiden showed great resolve to keep the goals out. Austen and Dillon started to boss the midfield with Connor Wyngaard up front in a poachers role.

 

The game plan was to play the long ball to Connor and twice we almost scored.. in the last 15 minutes we gave away no more goals and started to look the stronger team.

 

The positives were seeing the boys keeping their heads up and not giving up till the final whistle went. We really missed Logan this week but we are sure to welcome him back this Saturday. We are also very proud of Dillon for working through some serious stomach cramps and to Austen for pulling off his best tackle of the season.. go Bellville City!!!
