After the disappointing result from the previous weekend. Note, result and not performance.
As this team always gives it a bash. They lost 1-2 in the KO game against a very ordinary Meadowridge side.
To be honest I think the Meadowridge coaches walked around the corner and pinched themselves and then punched the air.
That is history and we took on Saxon Rovers this Saturday past. As usual we are ever so punctual and all met at 09h00 for our 09h45 kick-off and at Saxon’s.Our game kick-off at 10h10 which caused such confusion with every single player (home & away).
We did not start that well to be honest and within 5 minutes Matthew Hendriks signalled he has pulled his hamstring. That lead to a quick team formation change and on we went. We still struggled to dominate the game once we got the ball. Why, well we gave it away, simple!
As the game went on we gained possession and attacked. Then again they also attacked. It was true u13 soccer at its best. But attacking and the quick passing (not finding a team mate) as soon as we won the ball back allowed for them to get the ball and attack. It was not always simple passing but creative passing. Which at this age is a blessing to see. If you reading this you should take time out to come watch these lads!
We called Nicholas Raad up for this game and the big lad upfront along with tall Luca dominated the defence at every given chance. It was no surprise to see Nicholas score after some great play. We went into the break leading the game.
The second half saw us pick up the game and again dominated the field. But still the rushed passing caused us problems. Again Nicholas scored and did he thump the air again, but much harder this time. Awesome seeing the joy in the players faces. Our other goal scorer was Tian Fritz who was on the side with a leg injury – well he got back on and went to go score an awesome goal.
Well done to Matthew Carrolissen in leading the boys on the day, well done skipper.
This exciting game ended 3 – 3 (but we get the points due to a late start)

It was not easy giving the man of the match award as both Luca & Nicholas made it difficult for us. But I went for Nicholas due to him playing his first game and netting 2 goals.
