Saturday, 22nd April was a special day in the CTTFA Premiership calendar with the visit of local rivals, Durbanville, to PP Smits.
The day kicked off with a number of our mini and junior teams in action, followed by a host of festivities and activities, including an inflatable 5-a-side football pitch, an Easter Egg hunt for the children, an absolutely stunning performance by Avendale Primary School’s Drum Majorettes and an immensely amazing and touching solo Bag Pipe performance – the latter leading the BCFC and Durbanville 1st Team’s out onto the park accompanied by the BCFC U11 squad.

Although the 1st Team lost (we’ll get them back on their own patch boys!), the atmosphere at the club was electric and the support, from both Bellville City and Durbanville supporters, was absolutely magnificent!

All in all, a great day at BCFC and I/we look forward to many more match days of the same. As a committee, we’re proud of the fact that we’ve started to bring the VIBE back to the club – well done to all the time and effort that was put into making the day as awesome as it was!
Special thanks to Avendale Primary School for bringing their young Drum Majorette’s and for showcasing their skills and talent, to Gordon “MC Hammer” Hubbard for entertaining us throughout the day (yes, he does love the sound of his own voice!!…feel the Beefcake’s pain), to Kirt for giving up his time to lead out the teams with an amazing bag pipe performance and to all the supporters, parents and kids for supporting the club!
