The ladies were nervous approaching our game against UWC, primarily as they had knowledge of the scores that UWC has been beating other clubs by in the past and present.
We decided to start with a strong team to see what we up against in the first half. The team were well composed for about 10 min into the game and, after some good play, we scored our, and the games, first goal.
We could have done better as we were closing them down well in the middle of the park as well as defensively – our mistake being that we played the game on only one side of the field for most of the game, which allowed UWC to read our play. As such, UWC capitalized and marked our striker out of the game for large parts of the game.
In saying that, we had to change our game plan and, once executed, we attacked with more frequently once we made our subs.
We lost the game 2-1 but it was an eye opener for most clubs watching our game, as well as for the opponents as Bellville City FC are here to make a stamp on the league table.
